Ellen Olenska (Squared, wide)

This was hard to get the whole hat in my photo area, but I think the pictures really show the hat well.    The brim is 15 inches wide, and made from a woven fiber from the Phillipines that is for hatmaking.   The edging is wire and can be adjusted in small increments.  The crown is a hemp straw braid, with Swiss raffia band (I stitched from the braid) and peacock flu feather accent.  Most of my hats travel well, this one would require a box if traveling, but it would it such fun dramatic hat!
